The Fruits and Vegetables Association of Zambia (FVAZ) says Zambia has achieved a significant increase in local onion production this year, resulting in a reduction of onion imports by 5,000 metric tons.
FVAZ President Bernard Sikuyangana reported in an interview with the Zambian Business Times – ZBT, that the nation imported 10,000 metric tons of onions in 2025, compared to 15,000 metric tons in 2024.
