According to the latest official government report, the manufacturing sector contributed 9.3 or 10% towards the GDP in the year 2025. This is below the targeted reach of 36.12% as set according to Vision 2030, accessed by the Zambian Business Times – ZBT. It further indicates on the target of increasing manufacturers exports as a share of merchandize exports to 71 percent by 2038.
