According to the ZICTA ICT Sector 2026 Mid-Year Report, year-to-date revenue in the mobile cellular subsector increased by 18.0%, from K6.1 billion in June 2025 to K7.2 billion as of June 2026. A check on the report by the Zambian Business Times-ZBT on the mobile cellular services that contributed to the revenue showed that data generated the largest share in the first half of 2026 at 43.3%, followed by airtime at 42.9 percent, while leased sites, roaming, SMS termination, and SMS were the least contributors.
