Copper production in the first half of 2026 has increased by a modest 0.45%, rising from 445,176 to approximately 447,181 metric tons, according to official data. This growth, while positive, is, however, according to experts, below expectations set by the industry’s ambitious target of reaching 1 million metric tons in annual output, an objective that was also not achieved last year.
