An official report has confirmed that Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) experienced a 14 percent drop in copper production during the first five months of 2026. KCM, jointly owned by Vedanta Resources (holding a 79.4% majority stake) and Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holdings (ZCCM-IH, holding a 20.6% minority stake), saw production fall from over 34,300 metric tonnes in the same period of 2025 to approximately 29,600 metric tonnes this year from January to May 2026.
