Chinese-Owned NFCA’s copper production drops 17% in Q1

NFC Africa Mining PLC (NFCA), a leading Chinese-owned copper producer operating in Zambia’s Copperbelt Province, has reported a significant 17% decline in copper production for the first quarter of 2026, compared to the same period last year. According to an official mineral production report reviewed by the Zambian Business Times (ZBT), NFCA produced 16,300 metric tonnes of copper in Q1 2026, down from approximately 18,300 metric tonnes in the first quarter of 2025.
