Over 8k companies struggle to file annual returns with PACRA in 2025

y Philip Sinkala More than 8,000 companies failed to file annual returns with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA), raising serious concerns over the dangerous culture of non-compliance. According to the PACRA 2025 annual report seen by the Zambian Business Times—ZBT, the agency received 123,127 annual return filings against a target of 131,656, leaving a gap of over 8,500 companies that failed to comply with mandatory filing obligations. These figures have been recorded in the same year in which PACRA also celebrated registering more than 20,675 new companies, representing a 12.5% increase from 2024 and surpassing its annual target...
