Zambia’s agricultural sector is a cornerstone of both the national economy and food security, with maize serving as the primary ingredient in the staple food “Nshima.”
The 2025 harvest season marked a major milestone, yielding 3.6 million metric tonnes of maize. Following this achievement, the government recently approved the exportation of surplus maize.
